The Caves Where We Hide
Resting securely in their pod
peas may have no need for a god.
We may all feel secure likewise;
more alone than we realize.
Isolation is not allowed
by the larger will of a crowd.
Many of us have been denied
secret pods in which we can hide.
But whenever we go to sleep
it’s not because we’ve counted sheep.
It’s because we have found a pod
where we communicate with god.
This sleep and/or subconsciousness
eliminates our loneliness.

–––

Ev’ry one of us is a part
of the universe which is god.
We share one community heart
like so many peas in a pod.

–––
The maroon cat and lavender dog
went to walk with a crimson frog.
These animals of many colors
joined a parade with many others.

–––
Differences in colors and stance
were setting fires in all of their pants.
Hot Pants was girl he knew
when married became a shrew.
