A Sunday Shower
Iv’e had a shower and shampoo
and put on laundered clothing too.
I’m wearing my Sunday best
for today is a day of rest.
Of course i relax ev’ry day
but i don’t always dress this way,
for i am a long time retired
and the need to dress up expired.
My clothes are getting old, like me,
but as clean as they need to be.
They are not ragged or torn
but, like me, they’re a little worn.
My clothes and i go together
and to church in sunny weather.
