Smidgen: A Little Bit
I don’t know what lies around the bend
so i’m not yearning for life to end.
If i should have a smidgen more pain
i might find it harder to remain.
But, thanks to whatever gods i know
i expect it is not time to go.
So i’m living one day at a time;
ev’ryday i make a new rhyme.
I think that’s what i’m supposed to do;
share my daily happiness with you,
not taking my pains seriously
but live with a little dignity.
May we all have a smidgen of fun
or even more before we are done.
