An Eloquent Preacher
The syllables flow eloquently
from a vocabulary informed,
gracious. with easy facility
so the gates to ennui have been stormed.
But the boredom does seem to creep in
despite his academic flourish
because the bullshit is so deep in
the souls he is trying to nourish.
These congregants were already taught
by the consumer society
that whatever they want can be bought
without resort to his piety.
They dream about material things
while sleeping through his semonizings.
